Does anyone know what happened with the effort to get St. Joseph to re-establish the Thursday prayer group? I know they sent around a survey about how to improve the church, and Our Lady of Emmitsburg believers were all suggesting that the Thursday group come back. Any word on whether that will happen?

Observations:
Interesting how the places which are ‘bearing little fruit’ are being diminished. Tragic, but interesting. The last election proved revelatory regarding how people really live and breathe their Catholic faith.

Sadly, I remember how so many of the sisters at the Provincial House during this last election were extremely pro-Democratic (despite the clear death-culture agenda of this party - could it have BEEN any clearer?). I hope this is not true, but recently I have heard that there is no more funding to keep the Provincial House open anymore, so the sisters will have to move from Emmitsburg back to the Mother House in Indiana.

Secondly, there is the question of St. Josephs in Emmitsburg. I am not now nor have I ever been a member of that parish but many good and dear friends are members. I question the reason that this parish has been compelled recently to put out an anonymous survey as to why mass attendance there has dwindled to 1/3 of its previous attendance. I ask myself if it may have anything to do with the pastor and his attitudes, which are very self-righteous, as well as occasionally irrational, angry & impatient? Is this parish now reaping the ‘fruit’ of this behavior, and of the actions of the Archdiocese?

Concerns:
I am in a position to have heard of some - let us just say - less than ethical decisions - that Cardinal Keeler has made over the years, decisions that happened previous to any choices with which he may have been complicit regarding Gianna. So, I wonder what can have happened to the clergy most involved with the commission of investigation into the apparitions. Top Mariologists support Gianna’s position. Aside from all the fruits to which so many pilgrims can testify, how can that clerical team that investigated Gianna’s case, in all conscience, ignore documented scientific evidence that during an apparition, Gianna is in ecstasy? Brain waves cannot be forced into ecstasy-like emissions. Any scientist can verify this. I believe this is the reason that the Archdiocese has “strongly cautioned” (whatever THAT means), but not condemned these apparitions outright, as in the case of Bayside. After all, there were all too many irregularities, frauds and deceptions with this commission. Sins of omission can be extremely grave, and no matter how complicit they may have been (perhaps for material gains/advancement?) in not supporting Gianna in the face of that scientific evidence, at some point we all die; we all meet God. In view of the scrupulosity required for a commission to render a just judgment in a case such as this, ‘foolhardy’ does not even come close to a worthy description of their behavior from the long perspective of eternity.

Comment:
There is a humble, gentle and compassionate but compelling presence here in Emmitsburg. It is Our Mother and Our Lord. Our Lady has said to Gianna and to us that “She is not leaving.” So, we are not leaving.
Joshua 24:15: “But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living.
But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord."

As regards Our Lady's appearances in Emmitsburg, I have some witnesses, observations, concerns and comments that I would like to put forward:

Witness:
So many have said in my hearing that the entire OLOE apparition issue is just a personality cult for/about Gianna. When this occurs, I always make sure to explain to them that - for me, the reality is that I had heard very little about Gianna in 1990’s except to read of her experiences with the other visionaries in Scottsdale. Therefore, I certainly did not come here to acquaint myself with Gianna.

Personally, I do not - as a rule, get locutions. Even so, I was asked to come to Emmitsburg by Our Lady & Our Lord while in Adoration at my parish in the Washington DC, suburbs. I asked and asked for discernment and clarification. This call continued to be quite clear. This call was also quite compelling. After this, our family began to look very seriously at relocating our second home to the Emmitsburg/Carroll Valley area. Our Lord had said that it was God’s Will, and that “With my Mother on the case it will happen very quickly indeed!”, which is precisely what happened. I have also (unmerited) been given the grace to have complete faith in this visionary and these apparitions of Our Lady.

Since then, there have been so many unusual circumstances and occasions in which I have been given direct confirmation from completely different sources of the reality of the presence of Our Mother here in Emmitsburg, and only one of them has a direct relationship with Gianna herself (and definitely may not have known that what was said between us would confirm to me what I already believed)! I guarantee to you that now, there are few humans whose opinions or angry biases could now shake my absolute faith in this site. In short, I do not believe in Our Lady’s presence here because I want to believe it or need to believe it. Rather, I believe it because Our Mother has verified to me directly that she is here in Emmitsburg.

With respect to the the current ongoing clergy celebacy crisis (which includes some cases even involving heinous crimes against children and teenagers), some authors speak of documented evidence of Bishop's resisting and evading honest and open dialog resulting that the Church, both as an institution and as the mystical Body of Christ, is done detriment and disservice in many ways. These authors speak of a clear pattern:

Denial
Delay
Defiance
Deception

In the case of Emmitsburg, the Denial stage is ongoing: No one in authority can explain the inconsistencies of the obviously prejudiced and flawed investigation.

It is obvious that there is delay in redressing the wrongs done and correcting the errors made. Many letters having questions and clarification requests simply go un-responded to, or the responses are brief patronizing canned form-letter-like statements that lord over the enquirer the authority: "We speak no more of this and you must cover this up too and speak no more of it - Oblige me and my personal opinion and whim now!"

There are many examples now of defiance in supplying any meaningful response to the so very many legitimate and reasonable questions whose responded to answers will quite obviously demonstrate the travesty of justice the sham commission and the Baltimore Archdiocese have perpetrated against innocent persons.

As far as deception there are already signs of a cover-up to protect "reputation". In fact, constructing a "reputation" seems a goal so that those who would later reveal the truth find covered trails, shredded documents, and deceased perpetrators.

Well it's about time I read something positive about Our Lady's appearances in Emmitsburg. I was present at both St. Joseph's on Thursday nights and the Lynfield and can personally testify to the many good fruits. I saw with my own two eyes people returning to God through lifestyle and the sacraments of the church. I also witnessed one of the worst things I have ever seen and that was the concerted effort of the church in Baltimore to discredit the appartions of Our Lady with lies, slander and a complete distortion of the truth. Cardinal Keeler and Archbishop O'Brien should be ashamed of themselves.

Bravo! This makes sense to me. I have experienced many wonderful and miraculous things through Our Lady of Emmitsburg and I cannot in good conscience deny her presence. It would be a lie! And since nothing has been shown to be contrary to Church faith and morals, I have a right to continue to believe. Because the Archbishop has decided to continue the Cardinal's opinion, regardless of the evidence to support Our Lady, does not mean that it is condemned.

I know that there have been so many unjust attacks against Our Lady of Emmitsburg, especially by the Church, who should be supporting Our Lady's appearances, rather than attacking her. The fruit was so abundant when St. Joseph's prayer group was active, also when the prayer group was later continued at Lynnfield Complex, that there is no justifiable basis for anything but support. There were conversions and healings, and other small gifts that helped people to strengthen their faith. Apparently, these are things the Church hierarchy wants to avoid at all costs - they have worked so hard to stop everything!

I understand that the Diocese officials will not even hear the other side of the story by meeting with supporters - they are so intent upon keeping Our Lady silent - which is totally beyond understanding. This is not a frivolous activity - Our Lady always appears to warn us of danger - pleading with us to pray and change. It is most urgent!

In light of the scandals & cover ups currently affecting our Church, it seems to me that attacking apparitions of Our Lady is small potatoes compared to what they should be paying attention to. They should instead listen to her messages to see how they could make beneficial changes.

Our Lady has said that "They" (she includes Jesus) are not leaving so I hope that the Archbishop will give Her a fair hearing, which everyone deserves. Even the Blessed Mother!
